PRACTICAL INFORMATION

ARRIVAL


Airport

The closes airport is Palanga International Airport, approximately 1 hour by car (directions).

The other two major international airports are in Kaunas (directions) and Vilnius (directions).

Car rental is available in all airports.



Train/Bus

The train/bus station is 10 min walk/3 min drive from the championship site.

FROM VILNIUS

There are direct train and bus routes from Vilnius to Plungė. It takes around 3.5 hours by train and around 5 hours by bus. 

FROM KAUNAS

There are direct bus routes from Kaunas. Depending on the route it can take 2.5-4 hours. Direct train routes are not available.

FROM KLAIPĖDA/PALANGA

There are direct train and bus routes from Klaipėda to Plungė. It takes around 1 hour by train and around 1.5 hours by bus. 

To arrive from Palanga you need to change in Klaipėda. There is a direct shuttle bus service from Palanga Airport.

FROM RIGA

There is a direct bus service with Ollex. Duration around 4 hours. Tickets can be purchased here

ACCOMODATION


Camping


Hotels

Accomodation at Hotel Porto is available at discounted rates for participants and volunteers. 



CATERING


The organisers will provide lunch for volunteers and participants on all days of the championship and preparations, June 5-10. Please see lunch times in the program.

Drinking water, tea and coffee will be available.

For breakfast and dinner cafes and restaurants are located within walking distance or a few minutes drive by car. 

There are a number of grocery stores within 15-20 min walking from the championship site.  Opportunities to purchase food on site will be limited.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

VOLUNTEERS 

Safety helmets and glasses will be mandatory in the competition site. They will be provided by the organizers. However, if you have your own, please bring along.

PARTICIPANTS

Medical insurance for the duration of the championship is recommended.
